In its most basic sense, chiropractic is the art and science of helping the body to achieve its full potential without the use of drugs or surgery. The goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to restore movement to an area where motion is lacking. Joint motion is typically lost due to an injury, poor posture, or a sedentary lifestyle. The effects of improper motion can be tightness, stiffness, and most often PAIN. By incorporating proper adjustments with basic therapeutic principles (lengthening the tightened muscles, strengthening the weakened ones, and regaining position sense/balance), treatments are very safe and effective. Focusing on the cause of symptoms, instead of simply dulling them with narcotics, produces great, lasting relief.
